Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko ordered on Tuesday the creation of a closed cycle of military production.
Belarus needs a complete closed cycle for manufacturing advanced weaponry ranging from armored mobility to those for destruction, said Lukashenko.
It is necessary to equip Belarusian army with modern, precise and effective weapons, said the president, adding Belarus must produce modern weaponry in its own military plants.
According to Lukashenko, although Belarus is not in danger of a war at present, the army has to be armed in a timely manner. He also talked about the demand for domestic armament products.
The defense industry signed 55 contracts for 350 million U.S. dollars at the International Exhibition of Armament and Military Machines held in Minsk in the summer. In total, the contracts signed at the show amounted to 700 million U.S. dollars, he noted.
