By the end of July, Serbia will introduce several reform laws that will encourage foreign companies to increase their investments, Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic told foreign investors at a conference in Belgrade Thursday.

In a speech made to representatives of some 100 foreign companies that are members of the Foreign Investors Council (FIC) in Serbia, Vucic said that by the end of next month Serbia will bring changes to laws governing labor, privatization and bankruptcy, planning, construction and tax.

"The aim of this government is a healthy economic system and higher employment," said Vucic, adding the new labor law that will enter the parliamentary procedure in the following days.

He promised that the state will take measures to ensure fiscal consolidation and intensify the fight against the grey economy by bringing a new law on tax procedure and transferring 400 employees from the public administration into tax inspection.

"Reforms will not be delayed as long as we endure. One thing in our country is well-known: the animosity towards reforms is as strong as their final benefit for the progress of our society," Vucic said, inviting companies to invest more in Serbia.
